My house and Duncan Lake

Usually, I'm more of a sunset picture taker, but I was up early Saturday morning...not by choice.

2nd Batch

Semi-matching mugs

Mom's funky cup

I fired these last night, and could hardly sleep, I was so excited to see how they turned out.

Also as it turns out, pottery is a bit of an expensive habit. If anyone would like to make a donation towards the Baggett art cause....I would not be so proud as to turn such an act of charity away. I'd even consider sending a piece of pottery as a thank you gift :)

Disappointments

Apparently, you cannot fire low-firing clays with high-firing glazes at high firing temperatures.

Who knew? Actually, a little voice inside my head said, "This ain't gonna work." And looking back, I think the guy at the supply house knew. When we bought high-firing glazes he sent us home with the appropriate clay. By mistake, I later bought the wrong clay. Not only did the glazing turn out poorly, but they all cracked as well. Bummer, huh? I had been very excited about these three pieces. Ah well, I'll try them again.

Mon chat et le chien

In preparation for my trip to France, I thought it might be a good idea to take some pictures of home along with me. You never know when you might strike up a conversation with a local. How handy would it be to pull some pics out of your purse, and be all C'est ma maison. or Ce sont mes neices. How do you say "Here is my dog about to eat my cat." in French?

How do you say, "weird"?

Sacrificial Kitty

My cats can usually be found lounging on the couch, living wanton lives of leisurely pleasure. My brother says he wishes he was one of our cats. But I don't know...sometimes I don't envy our cats.
