Hotter'n Hell Hundred (25)

Saturday, a group of us rode in the Hotter'n Hell Hundred. Well, we only rode 25.
I had my coworkers and then my regular church friends all staying at my Grandma's house. Talk about "worlds colliding", but it was really a fun mixture of people and we had a great time!

My parents
The one picture we have of Jan. He's the only one in out group that did the full 100 miles, so he took a different route than the rest of us.

Jay getting his game face on.

Lindsay bored out of her mind while waiting for the race to start.
Pretty country side

We rode through Shepard Air Force base. For some reason I just really like this picture ;)

The airmen cheered us on. They really got into it too!

Here we are at the finish line!

2nd Anniversary

This is my two year anniversary here at "The Company".
You are probably wandering why a drafter would need to wear coveralls. We don't, but every once in a while I get to go over to the lab to observe testing. Every once in a blue moon, I actually get to help them with the test which can be messy. Besides, the coveralls make me feel like an astronaut, especially with the American flag patch on the shoulder! Who wouldn't want to wear them?!

Myrtle Beach

Three years ago today, we headed home from a vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC.

John Blue and Cenee invited us to go with them on their vacation to help take care of their little boys, although they didn't leave their boys with us too much! Can't imagine why!!

Lindz and I went scuba diving. This was one of our first adventures. I didn't really care for scuba diving, but the whole experience - taking the lesson, meeting and making friends on the boat, getting sea sick - everything was awesome!
Here's a picture of Bobby, our cute scuba instructor. I think every one's heard the story about us training in the pool. We were supposed to be sitting on the pool floor doing exercises with our regulators. Only my bum kept floating up, so I would wave my hand around and try to swing my bum back down. Lindsay didn't realise this - she thought I was shamelessly flirting with Bobby. But you know... Bobby wasn't supposed to come out on the boat that day, but he told his boss that he wouldn't miss it for anything! If I had been him, I wouldn't have missed it for anything either. We had a good time! Lindsay had everyone in the boat rolling. They were literally thanking her for coming! Fantastic.

Jimmy Buffet our captain - he played Margaritaville over and over and over again while we were out there.

We also met some of our old Okie friends that now live in NC there.
If you're reading this Kathryn, hugs to you and your family!

Mama Mia

Friday night, us girls along with our mamas went to see Mama Mia at the new Warren Theater. We came out of the theater inspired to sing and dance!

We need some good band names!

Hobie Dog

Everybody and their dog showed up at Duncan lake for some sailing Sunday afternoon.

Scott let us take turns taking his cat out. It rained on us a little bit while we were out sailing. Sailing in the rain was a surreal experiance - all except for wandering if at any moment you might be fried by lighting!
Ranger, Dad, and Ali lounging.

We kayaked (Kat and Ruth).

We played washers (Kat).

We grilled.

We swam.

Ranger found a small Island. You can see Mom and Dad in the distance with the kite.

Scott and Kristie landed the boat and Tank, their puppy, flew off - you can see his little bum in the air.

We visited.
It was a wonderful evening!

Sweet Nell

This is from the same trip as when we took the pictures spelling out Colorado (earlier post). While we were there in La Vita, the train from San Luis (It think) came through and stopped in La Vita. It was kind of like the train's maiden voyage across the mountains. The whole town showed up for it's arrival. I told Lindz to lay down on the tracks (after the train was good and stopped) for a picture. An older gentleman saw her, and got all upset. Once we explained to him what we were doing (and that she wasn't suicidal), he thought it was a great idea, he told Lindz to scream (which as you can see she did), and took a few pictures with his own camera.

My Tour de France Picture

Dad fixed up an old, funky bike for me. Now I just need to enter a race, and get me some ciggarettes!

Smokin' Cyclist

While we were bicycle shopping this past weekend, I saw this Tour De France poster hanging in one of the shops. Too funny, and kind of sweet. Things certainly have changed! Check out those water bottles. There is also a guy holding his arm up in the background. I never noticed him before - I was too astonished with the smoking cyclists!
