Andyman

Wake boarding last week was great for us beginners. There wasn't that many people in the boat and we had all the time in the world to learn how to get up and move around a little bit. When Andyman and his girlfriend showed up a little later, we told him how well we had been doing (for beginners - I'm not bragging ;). Poor guy, he had never been wake boarding before and I think he was feeling a little bit of pressure knowing that the rest of us had made it. So we really encouraged him, told him he would do fine - it might take a couple of tries, but you'll get up. Don't lose heart, man! Loren acted out every move in the boat that Andy would have to make in the water to get up. I got out the camera to record Andy's first attempt at wake boarding...

...I think we've been duped!

Wake Boarding at Waurika Lake

Some of my coworkers took me wake boarding in exchange for a peach pie - fair trade, huh?! In this picture are my lovely toes, Rob an eccentric, fun loving Canadian wearing his "lake hat", and Jan in the distance who oddly enough is also Canadian. This was a great day - I absolutely love any sport that involves being drug (dragged?) behind a boat! I might have to make a couple more pies just to show my sincere gratitude for being allowed to tag along!

Norman Rockwell Bride

Lindz wore her blue jeans to go wedding dress shopping in, and for the life of us we couldn't figure out why the people in that one designer shop snubbed us!

Wedding Dress Hunt

Stratford Peach Festival

The Stratford Peach Festival was...well I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! Going by a fruit and vegetable stand on the way home was much more fun.
Here's Reagan and I sitting in the grass eating our lunch in 100+ degree weather.

Aunt B picking her peaches out.

The fun-loving gentleman at the fruit stand.

Mom making a pie (I made the dough).

Mmmmm, that's how I like my peaches!

Oklahoma's version of Ralph Lauren.

So, I'm going to post a couple more sailing pics...because I love them!
I'm wondering if it was in my niece's mind to "accidentally" fall in.

Old Men and the Sea

Okay, so it was a little bit boring kayaking out at Lake Hefner! I followed these two older gentlemen for a while taking their pictures and talking with them. I have a picture of them waving at me, but I liked this picture better. The Hobie Cat-ers were actually having quite the party on shore, and these two guys were just sailing by slowly, in absolute silence - just sitting there. It was actually kind of eerie, like they weren't apart of this world, like a ghost ship! But then I talked to them and took their picture and broke the spell.

Kayakers, Windsurfers, & Hobie Cat-ers

Friday evening Lindsay, Shay, Smitty, and I went kayaking at Lake Hefner up in OKC. We only had my kayak, so we took turns. Shay and Smitty doubled up :) It was a lazy, fun evening at the lake. While we were there, I noticed a lot of Hobie Cat-ers, and wind surfers. I actually got to go Hobie Catting with Scot and Kristie at Duncan Lake on Sunday. And someday I will take lessons for kite-surfing!

There was very little wind on Sunday - perfect for learning how to sail and taking a nap.

Beautifully goofy

My camera captured a moment! This picture makes me laugh more than the goofy glasses picture. My 2nd niece with chalk streaks on her cheeks (drawn there by my first niece), gleefully stealing a sip from her big sister's thermostat/thermal cup/thermal something.

Some of my cousins

Sunday evening, some of our family came out for a visit.
Here's Oliver making everyone get off the 4wheeler so he and Erick could take it for a ride.

Dad flew the kite with the girls for a little while.

I got out the tandom kayak and we took turns taking it out on the lake.

The Proposal

Our last picture together *sniff*. The whole day before the proposal, everything was the last thing for me. Don't get me wrong - I was/am wicked excited, but it also felt like I was being led to the guillotine.

Here Lindsay sits, completely unaware that in 15 minutes Shay will ask her to be his wife. Reagan was really cracking me up!

Don't they look happy!?

Colorado - Art is in the Process

We were looking at these pics the other day remembering how much fun we had taking them. These were taken in La Veta, CO two years ago while we were there visiting Lindz and Rea's grandparents and friends. We also went skiing. About the time we were taking these pictures, we were pretty bored, but it really was a fantabulous trip!
