Old Men and the Sea

Okay, so it was a little bit boring kayaking out at Lake Hefner! I followed these two older gentlemen for a while taking their pictures and talking with them. I have a picture of them waving at me, but I liked this picture better. The Hobie Cat-ers were actually having quite the party on shore, and these two guys were just sailing by slowly, in absolute silence - just sitting there. It was actually kind of eerie, like they weren't apart of this world, like a ghost ship! But then I talked to them and took their picture and broke the spell.

reminded me of the book your big brother recommended to me...Clavell's Tai Pan. He addresses some similar issues of the transition from sails to steam...very cool reading that.
