Hawaii - Seven Sacred Pools

Just past Hana in the Haleakala National Park, we visited the Seven Sacred Pools.

People were jumping off the ridge into the pool. You can see a girl jumping in this picture. A couple of days before there had been a 26 year old killed while diving at Black Rock where we went snorkling. After hearing that story and countless others we were feeling more towards the mortal side and opted not to jump!

Looking out from behind the waterfall.
On the way home, we saw these wind surfers.

This was our last sunset in Maui *sniff*

One of the things I like about your posts, Jess, is the fact you publish the full-size pics... or if they're re-sized (which they might be...dunno) at least you keep 'em large enough to see all the great detail.

Except for today. Blogger must be having "issues," coz I had time to hit another blog, read a post, digest it, and comment... all while ONE of your pics was in the process of downloading. It's almost like being back on dial-up!

As for not jumping into the pool that day? Verrah, verrah smart.

Thanks for not jumping (for once). The photos were gorgeous.

HI,

This is the couple you took a picture of kissing under the waterfall at the Seven Sacred Pools :) I didn't see the picture on your blog and was wondering if you could email it to me at csatkinson30@yahoo.com
Hope you still have it! Thanks,

Carolyn

Nice pics Jesse! I'm also glad you didn't jump! Did you ever try wind surfing?

Buck, I'm too lazy to resize my pics :) Glad you like them that size. Mom gets frustrated when, every once in a while, she can't click on the picture to enlarge it. I don't know what to do about it, though.

Yeah Ashley! Let's go back!

Fire Fox - I've never tried kite surfing, but I do have a burning desire to try kite surfing! There were actually some kite surfers doing their thing not too far from the wind surfers. Both were fascinating to watch. One of the wind surfers bit it, and those gigantic waves were just pummeling the poor guy. I was ready to do my bay watch impersonation and go save him!
