Traveling

I guess since we've had a little bit of rain, I've been thinking about fall which makes me think about last fall which makes me think about France. I'll be sitting at my desk working and all of a sudden be overwhelmed with a memory of France. Not so much an exact memory, but more a memory of a sensation -  like the feeling of sunshine while we sat at a cafe, the noise of crowds, the smells of my aunt's apartment, or just the warm feeling of being with my family and having a wonderful time. It's the sensation of traveling and adventure, and I miss it. I"m thankful for the trips I've had and I look forward to many more!

Here's a pic that Nina took of Grandma and I as we walked to Mont St. Michel.

I showed some of your France pics to Aunt Daphne yesterday - including this one.

Come on down to Austin for the "Austin smells" ... no matter where we are, it's home and fun -- especially if you are there!

Becky sent me a text last night that simply said, "I miss France." Just keep in mind that Jim and Ariel will be stationed in Paris for the next 18 months - they will be leaving this December. Both speak French and want company! Ariel lived there for several months when she got out of college so she is very excited about being a tour guide and visiting the city as many times as she can! Evie will come home speaking French as well as English.

Yes Catherine, I love Austin too! I was very jealous of my folks while they were down there visiting last week.

Barbara, your comment got me all excited. I think I may need to go to France at least one more time! I also need to befriend Jim and Ariel on FB, so they will know who I am when I invite myself to stay with them.

That parking lot is the only one I've seen that is bigger than Wal Mart :-) That's a long walk!
