Crathes Woods

I hate to state the obvious, but this is my Dad smelling a tree.

I felt guilty for climbing this ancient tree, like maybe the Tree Police were going to come get me!

Those pictures speak well than most of the written blogs best friend saw.

Bestfriend is just new in blogging, but he can say now, that photo is such a great way to speak ones mind.

I like them.
Keep it up!

I have the "Jesse in the forest" pic on my computer (Little John and Robin Hood are hiding in the trees). This could have been titled "Crathes Stumps."

Jess, your photography is stunning! As a photographer wannabe, I'm amazed at how you capture the picture and tell the story with your eye.

Some of the photos remind me of scenes from Jane Austin movies and I think that any moment Mr. Darcy will show up.

Me, too...me, too! Great Good Stuff, Jesse.

Your fifth photo down...the house (church?) with "1858" on it... made me think of this old stone farmhouse B&B the Second Mrs. Pennington and I stayed at in Scotland once upon a time. We noted the house had a stone with a simple "16XX" engraved on it (over the door), and asked if that was the address? On which road? (We were taking notes...) We were then politely informed that, no, that's not the address... it's the year the farmhouse was built. "Oh." was all we could manage in reply...

Jay, the best wallpaper would be Toby smelling the tree.

I cringe everytime I see a pic of my mom and I standing together - her with her skinny legs and me with...She told me one time that she prayed that I would not have her skinny legs. Guess she didn't know the power of prayer.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the Scottish pics!

I wish Mr. Darcy had come strolling out the woods!

Buck, it's not such a bad idea to engrave the year the building was made. When we were at Edinburgh castle they had "2000" engraved in some of the stones. Helps you easily keep track of history (or what isn't history). If I ever build a house I'll have to remember engrave the year dead center on the main gable.
