Instagram Junkie
For my birthday in June, I got a smarty-pants phone...with an Instagram application...I'm an Instagram junkie! This was taken on our Wheeler Peak hike during July. I may post more.

Dancing
School is out! I got an A in my photography class! I was a little nervous there for a while...
This is my buddy from art history. She was a dance major before she was an art major and agreed to help me out with my studio assignment. This picture has some technical problems - she's a little out of focus and the quality is grainy, BUT I still love this picture!

The assignment - to make a man made object using balsa wood. No glue or tape could be used for the connections - only "tension connections".

Drawing II - Class Project
All the girls in my drawing II class had to bring a Ken doll to class. We photographed them and then split each photo into three sections. Each girl was then randomly assigned three different sections. These are my three...

I ain't no portrait photographer!
I turned these photos in for my big photography assignment. We had to turn in two self-portraits and two portraits of two different people. I had a really hard time taking portrait pics! I'm the kind of photographer that sees magic happening, and I run and get my camera. But with this assignment, I had to make the magic happen. Only the truly talented photographers can work magic!
Plus I've been trying to figure out what the teacher wants so I can please him, but I can't figure him out! Every picture he points out as being good, I think is lame - seriously. Anyway, I gave up and just turned in my favorite pictures. I absolutely love the ones of Dad and Adam!

The only pic my teacher seemed to like was the one of me in the red scarf. I'll keep y'all posted on what grade I get!

Big Ears
Saturday morning, Grandma, my cousins Adam and Eric, and I went to the little airplane museum here in Wichita Falls. It was 30° in that hanger! We didn't stay too long. They do fly this Jenny every first Saturday of the month. I think I may go and watch - hopefully it will be warmer.

Drawing II - Project I
In this assignment we had to draw bright, colorful reflective ball shapes using oil pastels. We had to do three 25" x 19" drawings that all "went together". They had to have three different perspectives - bird's eye, eye level, and worm's eye. The three paintings had to have some meaning or tell some kind of story. I turned these babies in tonight!

Shutter Speed Exercise
My photography teacher had us take more action photos to sharpen our understanding of shutter speed. I procrastinated a little and at the last minute had a fellow art student/football player do some jumping jacks. He's such a great sport - not only did he do jumping jacks, but he did them with a smile! In retrospect, I should have had him tackle other students as they walked by. Those pictures would have been artsy!

Aperture Lesson
This is the same nose picking buddy of mine. Here we were learning about aperture settings. See how the hands in the foreground are blurry? That's not good, but it's still a fun picture!

Weekend Homework
For my Drawing II class, I have to draw three large drawings of colorful balls using oil pastels. I chose to draw a bowl of skittles. You can see the beginnings of one in the foreground. While I worked on my homework, Mom and my cousin Adam played around with watercolor.
In my Photography class, the teacher went over shutter speed. As homework he requested that using different shutter speeds we take pictures of people "hauling A". He said, "Cats don't do this very well, neither do chickens, neither do old people". Adam was kind enough to volunteer. Zoe volunteered too. My teacher also requested that our subjects over exaggerate their arm movements to cause more motion to capture. Adam doesn't naturally run like this. Every time he passed through my camera view...well I laughed really hard. It was funny as H.

Adam's Room
I and another cousin have both moved in with Grandma for the semester. This is the beauty/office bedroom that has now become Adam's room. Little does Adam know that Grandma and Buddy are chilling in his room while he's off at work. I bet he figures it out. And, I bet he doesn't care - just funny.

Dirty Lil
So there's this old song that my Grandfather used to sing to my mom all the time, Dirty Lil. We only knew the first verse, but thank to the power of Google we now have the whole song! The song I copied had Dirty Tess in the third verse, but I changed it to Jess. I like to feel apart of these things. Another funny thing is that Pete and Luke are both in our family too. Pa would have enjoyed the whole song!

Shay & Lindz's New Home
Last week Lindz and Shay were working on getting their new house set up. Kat and her mom out of the kindness of their hearts brought Shay and Lindz some lunch. I came out to help them eat their lunch, because that's what friends are for!
