Surfing Hawaii USA - Day 2

The three of us took surf lessons with Maui Waveriders in Lahaina.

Bully was our instructor - that's right, Bully!

We were in a class with two girls from Vancouver and a lady from San Diego. They were all fun-loving girls!

A guy named Troop helped out with our class too.

There was another instructor out there giving private lessons. Every time we surfed by he and his students he would yell, "Oklahomaaa!"

Hmm, this one could be called "Nerd Girls Go Hawaiian." First of all, I do not recognize those clothes - Did bully loan them to you? Second, you are awfully brave to post a photo of yourself next to the gorgeous girl in the bikini. My favorite photo is you watching the little boys.

eThe clothes were to fool the sharks right? You girls rock! I can smell the sea and feel the breeze! Glad you're home.

It looks like you did a whole lot better on your first "day at the beach" than I did on mine, Jess. But then again, you benefited from professional instruction; all I had was a couple of my high-school buddies who were simply clue-free when it came to teaching...

I drank a LOT of salt water that day... but things improved.

And... about "professional instruction." I'd say that guy has the Gig of a Lifetime if his every class looks like you and your classmates. ;-)

The one with the little boys surfing is reminiscent of watching those little 3 and 4 year olds on the ski slope in their little train formations..."Woo Woo!" curving down the slope as i try to just keep my face out of the nearest mogul.

The thing that cracks me up about the last one is...you've got the perfect athletic pose and this "i'm gonna own this wave" look on your face, and the other girl is standing on her board like she might as well be holding a mai tai at the nearest tiki hut.

I always wanted to surf, it looks like so much fun!

Good on ya JB!
